We assess how the management of ESG risks and opportunities may influence an issuer’s ability to meet its debt obligations, as well as its creditworthiness and valuation.

Our approach to Responsible Investment is guided by these key principles:
ESG integration through a credit lens
We integrate ESG factors into our investment process, focusing on how management of ESG risks and opportunities may influence an issuer’s credit profile and valuation.
Focus on materiality and how risks and opportunities evolve
We assess ESG factors that are material to an issuer’s business and credit profile, while also considering whether those risks are improving or deteriorating over time.
Minimum standards and exclusions
We apply baseline criteria through screening and exclusions to establish minimum standards. This includes screening for compliance with UN Global Compact Principles and applying defined activity- and revenue-based exclusions as set out in our ESG Policy.
Engagement to deepen understanding
We use engagement to deepen our understanding of ESG risks and opportunities and, where appropriate, to encourage improved disclosure or management of identified issues.

Kapstream is a signatory to the United Nations Principles for Responsible Investment (UNPRI) through Janus Henderson Investors.
